As weather and climate become increasingly unpredictable,  supporting  stable solutions becomes ever more important. On a global scale, trees and forest top soil currently capture and store more than a quarter of the world’s carbon emissions. Forestry therefore holds an essential role to maintaining a natural balance in the world’s ecosystems.

Findings of the Global Assessment Report on Adaptation of Forests and People to Climate Change, including positive effects on managed boreal forests and potential for forest degradation will be presented at the Forest Day 3 Learning Event chaired by Niels Elers Koch and co-hosted by IUFRO and EFI.
